Your Agent

Skills

Give your agent reusable know-how for specific tasks — use Lorito's ready-made skills or upload your own.

Skills give your agent extra know-how for handling specific kinds of tasks — a focused set of instructions it can draw on, beyond your system prompt and knowledge base. You manage them in two places: you add skills to a project in Customize → Skills, then enable them per agent in the Skills card on the agent page.

Two kinds of skills

  • Platform skills — ready-made skills provided by Lorito. Browse them in Customize → Skills and click + to add one to your project. They're maintained for you, so there's nothing to write.
  • Custom skills — your own skills, uploaded as a SKILL.md file. Use these to capture procedures specific to your business. In Customize → Skills, upload the file, preview the parsed name and description, pick an icon, and add it. Custom skills are marked Custom so you can tell them apart at a glance.

Adding and enabling a skill

Skills work in two steps — first add to the project, then enable for the agent:

  1. In Customize → Skills, add the platform or custom skills you want. They become available to the whole project.
  2. On the agent page, open the Skills card and click Add skill to choose from the project's skills, then use the toggle to enable it for that agent.

Only skills you've added to the project appear in the agent's picker. If the list is empty, add some in Customize first.

Removing a skill

  • Remove a skill from an agent (in the agent's Skills card) to stop that agent using it, while keeping it available to the rest of the project.
  • Remove a skill from the project (in Customize) to take it out entirely — any agent that had it enabled will stop using it. You can re-add either at any time.

The number of skills you can enable on an agent is subject to your plan's limit. If you reach it, disable or remove one to add another.
