Quickstart
The fastest path from signing up to a live agent on your website.
This guide takes you from a fresh account to an agent that answers questions on your site. The setup wizard walks you through most of it — this is what to expect and how to finish.
The whole flow usually takes only a few minutes. Indexing keeps running in the background, so you can move ahead while Lorito works.
Create your project
When you sign up, Lorito starts a new project for you — this is your knowledge base. If you arrived from the Lorito homepage with your website address already filled in, your project may already be created and indexing before you even reach the wizard.
Add a knowledge source
On the Add your knowledge step, paste your website address (for example, www.example.com) and continue. Lorito reads your site and indexes its content so the agent can answer from it.
You can also attach other sources here — a PDF or a block of text — using the Other sources buttons. These are added alongside your website. You don't need to add everything now; you can add more sources later from the project's knowledge area.
A website is a single source that contains many items (your individual indexed content). Files and text blocks are separate sources you can add and remove at any time.
Wait for indexing to finish
After you continue, Lorito works through your content: discovering what's there, reading it, and indexing it so the agent can search it. You'll see live progress while this happens.
You don't have to wait on this screen — Lorito keeps indexing in the background. Larger sites take a little longer than a single page or document.
Review your agent
Once enough content is ready, Lorito writes a first set of instructions for your agent based on what it learned from your site. On the Review your agent step you can read these instructions, edit them, or click Regenerate to have Lorito write a fresh version.
Don't worry about getting this perfect now — you can fine-tune your agent's persona and instructions later in its settings.
Preview and deploy
When your agent is ready, you'll land on the Your agent is live step. Click Preview your agent to open a chat and try a few real questions to see how it answers.
When you're happy, go to your project and open its Channels to get your embed code. Paste the snippet just before the closing </body> tag on every page of your site, and the chat widget appears for your visitors. Prefer not to touch your site's code? You can also share your agent's hosted page link instead.
